Refund Policy

The Journal of Engineering Education and Practice (JEEP) is committed to providing transparency and fairness in its publication process. While JEEP primarily operates under an open-access model, we recognize that there may be instances where authors need clarification regarding any applicable fees or refund requests.

Key Aspects of the Refund Policy:

  1. Publication Fees:

    • JEEP may charge Article Processing Charges (APC) for accepted manuscripts to cover editorial, peer review, typesetting, and publishing costs.
    • Authors will be informed of the applicable fees at the time of submission, and these fees will be clearly communicated before the final submission is made.
  2. Refund Eligibility:

    • Before Acceptance: If a manuscript is withdrawn before acceptance (i.e., before entering the peer review process), any publication fees paid by the author may be refunded in full, minus any administrative fees, if applicable.
    • After Acceptance but Before Publication: If a manuscript is accepted and the author wishes to withdraw before the article is published, a partial refund may be considered. The refund will depend on the stage of the publication process, and any work already completed (e.g., peer review, editing) may incur a non-refundable fee.
    • After Publication: Once an article is published, no refund will be provided as the article becomes part of the journal’s permanent, publicly accessible archive.
  3. Non-Refundable Fees:

    • Fees for expedited review, special editorial services, or other services requested by the author that have already been rendered are non-refundable.
    • If an article is rejected due to issues such as plagiarism, ethical violations, or failure to meet the journal’s standards, no refund will be issued.
  4. Requesting a Refund:

    • Authors requesting a refund must submit a formal written request to the editorial team, providing the manuscript ID, title, and the reason for the withdrawal.
    • The request will be reviewed by the editorial team, and a decision will be made based on the stage of the manuscript in the publication process.
  5. Processing of Refunds:

    • Once a refund request is approved, the process typically takes 4-6 weeks, depending on the payment method used and the complexity of the request.
    • Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment that the author used for the initial transaction.
  6. Exceptional Circumstances:

    • In exceptional cases, such as administrative errors or issues caused by the journal’s publishing process, JEEP may consider a full or partial refund, even after acceptance or publication.
    • Refunds in such cases will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and the author will be informed accordingly.

This refund policy ensures that authors are treated fairly and that their expectations are clearly outlined in advance of the publication process. JEEP remains committed to providing an efficient, transparent, and professional experience for all authors.
